Panoptis publishes clinical and experimental original articles, reviews, editorials, educational photo-essays (Diagnosis and Therapy in Ophthalmology), case reports and case series, letters to the editor, doctoral theses. Manuscripts are accepted on the condition that they have not been published elsewhere, except for abstracts of oral presentations. All submissions are subject to editorial review and will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. It is assumed that the author(s) has considered the ethical aspects of the study and followed the guidelines of the Helsinki Declaration.

ORIGINAL PAPERS: Manuscripts should be arranged in the following order:1) title page; 2) abstract; 3) key words; 4) text; 5) acknowledgement; 6) references; 7) tables; 8) legends to figures; 9) illustrations and graphics. 1) The Title Page
should contain on separate lines author(s) name, institution, and the title of the article. In addition it should contain the email and postal addresses, plus telephone and fax numbers of the corresponding author. All author affiliations and corresponding author’s addresses should be supplied in English. 2) The Abstract of original papers must be structured with the following headings: Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusion, and should not exceed 250 words. Abstracts of review articles, case reports and case series do not have to be structured in this same way. 3) Key Words. Four to nine key words for indexing purposes must be given. 4) Text should be concise. Introduction should state the purpose of the article and key aspects of present knowledge. Extensive literature reviews are not desirable. Primary sources are preferred. As regards Material the journal requests that all research has followed the Tenets of the Declaration of Helsinki, and that the details are provided in the manuscript text. In experimental studies using animals the manuscript must describe the care of the animals and indicate ethics committee approval. These studies should conform to principles of animal maintenance and use of animals in medical research. Methods of investigation should be with sufficient information to permit repetition of experiments. Statistics and mathematical analyses should be applied when appropriate and be described under Methods. Authors are encouraged to take advice from an expert of statistics. Results should be as clearly presented as possible. Do not duplicate in the text data that is given in tables and figures.

Discussion; should be based on author(s)' contributions and references to prior investigations. 5) Acknowledgements
should indicate the name, society and date of the meeting if an abstract of the article has been presented previously. Support for the study can also be published here. A statement regarding possible conflict of interest must be included here (e.g. disclose financial interest in the equipment or method described, research or travelling grant support, consulting services provided, or disclose absence of commercial or propriety interest). 6) References; Author(s) is responsible for accurate references that must conform to journal style: names of the authors, title, journal, year of publication, issue, pages. All articles should be cited in the original language of the reference. References "in press" must be filled in at latest in at the proof stage. Reference to unpublished material should state the author's name followed by "unpublished" or "personal communications"; such references should not appear in the reference list. 7) Tables should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals and cited in the text. The approximate location in the text should be indicated in the manuscript. Each table should be typed as a separate document. Tables should have legends. 8) Figure legends should be on separate pages. 9) Illustrations and graphics. All photographs, drawings and graphs are referred to as figures and should be numbered in sequence with Arabic numerals.

REVIEW ARTICLES: Review articles have high priority. They are usually invited, but the journal may also accept unsolicited review articles. Review papers have an abstract that may be in a single segment.

CASE REPORTS: Published case reports should provide new knowledge and be well documented and educational.

LETTERS TO THE EDITOR: Panoptis will consider letters for publication. Letters should encourage scientific discussion
on topics pertaining to ophthalmology, and may also consis of short reports or observations. Letters should have no abstract, no key words, and no subheadings. Letters should not exceed 800 words and should have a maximum of 7 references and 5 illustrations.

COLOUR FIGURES AND POLICY: Panoptis requests all figures that are inherently in color (e.g. fundus photographs,
clinical photographs, histology, optical coherence tomography) be submitted to the journal in true color.

VIDEO CLIPS: Accepted file formats: MP4, (.mpg), Quicktime(.mov), or Microsoft (.avi) Maximum size: 10MB. Patient should not be identifiable, or their pictures must be accompanied by written permission to use the video. If the software used for the creation of your video(s)/animation(s)cannot deliver one of the above formats, then please save them in one of the accepted formats. It is the author's responsibilityto supply video files in the correct format. The journal will not consider video material not submitted according to specifications. Authors must obtain consent from subject to use any identifiable material, e.g., a video image of a subject's face, and forward that consent to the editorial office at submission.When the subject is a minor child, consent must be obtained from the parent or guardian.

LANGUAGE: Papers should be written in English or Greek.

PROOFS: Proofs will be sent to one author only. Further instructionswill be sent with the proof.

REPRINTS: Reprintsare supplied with each article if ordered on the reprint orderform, which will accompany the proofs.
